Microsoft Teams is the learning hub for NAKH students. After you enroll, Aliana creates your NAKH email (an Outlook / Microsoft 365 account). That login unlocks Teams class channels, assignments, grades, lecture recordings, and announcements 24/7.
Your NAKH email is the key
- Watch for the setup email from Aliana after your enrollment is processed. It explains how to access your materials.
- Go to office.com and sign in with your NAKH email.
- Complete Microsoft two-factor authentication when prompted. This is required.
- Open Teams. You will only see the classes and channels for the courses you are enrolled in.
If you cannot log in, email Hussain or text the school line at 780-461-6708. Do not create a personal Microsoft account and expect it to work. It has to be the NAKH-issued address.
What lives in Teams
- Class channels for announcements, materials, and resources
- Assignment instructions, deadlines, and submissions
- Chat and meetings with instructors and classmates
- Course outlines, handouts, and lecture recordings
This is a live classroom model, not a self-paced course. Out-of-town students join the same session as the in-person class. If you live within about 100 km of Edmonton you come to campus once a month for hands-on work. Outside that radius, campus visits are required every other month.
Dress code, schedule, and FAQs
Dress code
Wear professional, clean, modest clothing. Comfortable athletic wear, scrubs, or fitted t-shirts with pants work for practical classes. Closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required in practical classes and in-house clinics. No sandals. Keep nails clean and trimmed, skip strong fragrance, tie long hair back, and keep jewelry minimal.
How big are the classes?
We aim for a maximum of 12 to 15 students so you get individualized attention.
What does a week look like?
The 2450-hour diploma is 16 months. First-year students are typically on campus Wednesday and Thursday. Second-year students are typically Monday and Friday, with Fridays used for case studies and partner practice. The calendar runs three weeks on and one week off during the instructional block, then field placement in the student clinic.
Do I need to buy a table and textbooks?
No. Tuition and mandatory fees cover campus equipment. You get an outreach t-shirt and a scrub top. Textbooks are optional because the library and online resources are available. If you want your own folding table or seated chair for home practice, ask admissions for the optional supplies estimate.
Can I get paid for student massages?
Not while you are a student. City bylaws do not allow paying student therapists. After you become an RMT, you can work as an employee or contractor.
